A brief look at the career of Carrie Feiner, New York based impresario and popular entertainment events organizer.
Carrie Feiner has been an events organizer since 1981, when she began to provide performers for corporate functions, private parties and almost any other occasion requiring professional entertainment. She is also the exclusive personal manager of the exciting pianist Sara Davis Buechner, whose solo career has taken her all over the world performing with orchestras and in recitals. Carrie was born in Broxville, New York and studied classical piano at the Mannes College with Joseph Raieff, following which she did her graduate degree, again with Mr.Raieff, at the Juilliard School of Music, New York. However, while she loved music, she felt that she was not truly a performer and thus gave up appearing in public recitals. In high school, she started to show signs of the organizer she was by putting together music clubs in the school. When she was seventeen, and not yet experienced in the music business, she bravely telephoned the celebrated Metropolitan Opera soprano Roberta Peters and invited her to come to the school and perform. At the same time Carrie also began to organize talent shows and the die was cast. She would become an arts administrator. Music ManagementIn 2004 Feiner met the pianist Sara Davis Buechner and a year later she became Buechner's personal manager, forging a close business and personal relationship that has been fruitful and rewarding for them both. Buechner's performing schedule grows each year and Carrie says that "My future goal is to continue to manage Sara's career and to provide the best in entertainment for Feiner Enterprises." Events Organizing came naturally to Carrie, and she started in this field seriously by presenting a group of Jewish composers in programs across the country, following this by offering entertainment for companies wishing to use the atriums in their buildings for public events. This led to three hundred concerts and offerings a year and Feiner has not looked back since. Events that are offered by Feiner can vary from a group of classical musicians to a juggler or Ethnic Music Group. She also coordinates entertainment for conventions, corporate events, school and holiday concerts. Her background in classical music has given her an awareness of what is truly fine in that area, and her business acumen has guided her in the selection of single performers or groups that would appeal to a prospective client. All this is done with a gracious good humor because, as she puts it, "I am having fun, I enjoy my work." She has had several corporate clients remain with her since 1981, attesting to the fact that she is, indeed, a success in her chosen field. Source: Personal conversations with Carrie Feiner.
